Description & Details

Sandra Brown Burns married the late Larry Burns in 1981 after moving to Jonesboro. Larry Burns was a native of Jonesboro from a pioneer rice farming family. She was an attorney who taught in the business school at ASU. Jerry Brackett designed this home in approximately 1990 and built it immediately after. Cottages to Castles, a decorating firm in Jonesboro, fully furnished the home. Many local artists' original pieces were used along with a favorite of Sandra's, Suzanne Rabaud. Larry had always wanted a Charles Eames Lounge Chair but after ordering it he only sat in it about a year and went back to Lazy Boys. That classic chair and ottoman is in Artefact's space in La Maison in Memphis but the photo and the chair are available through this sale. The famous artist that was the Dean of ASU Art Department in the 60s, Dan Howard, sold a painting to Larry as well. And it is available as well.

This is a special estate sale, unlike the many high-end sales that we have given in the past. The furniture was made before all of the factories moved to Asia but designs that are still popular. The colors are vivid and beautiful. You have to see this entire house to appreciate what all is for sale.

Most special items:

Charles Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, original with rosewood back

Dan Howard Original painting 1964

Roger Carlisle pastel original

Suzanne Rabaud from Paris, France; numerous originals

Jerry Brackett prints

Sara Howell original painting and prints
