Her joy of life was infectious. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1953. A significant achievement was being one of the few individuals, and a woman at that, to pass the California Bar exam without going to law school. She had a 40-year career with Charles Zeller Law firm in Stockton. She was also an accomplished pilot flying Cessnas and Bonanzas.
