The Bagale Collection continues with Session V, featuring more than 500 lots from the lifetime collection of the late Dr. E. John Bagale, a respected Pueblo-area physician, historian, and dedicated collector whose interest in military history and militaria spanned decades.

This session offers an extensive mix of military archives, reference material, photographs, documents, field equipment, optics, uniforms, insignia, edged weapons, and militaria from multiple periods.

A significant portion of the auction is devoted to Dr. Bagale’s research and archival holdings, including military books, reference works, period publications, documents, photographs, photo albums, printed material, and historical ephemera. These materials provide additional context to the artifacts he collected and reflect the depth of research behind his lifelong interest in military history.

Collectors will also find a broad selection of German and European militaria, including field and personal equipment, headgear, uniforms and uniform components, insignia, badges, accessories, edged weapons, and related artifacts.

The auction includes an especially strong selection of military optics and field glasses, with examples from noted makers such as Carl Zeiss Jena, Leitz Wetzlar, Hensoldt, Rodenstock, Emil Busch, Goertz, and others.

As with previous Bagale Collection auctions, the catalog includes material from multiple periods and collecting categories. Original period pieces are offered alongside postwar, reproduction, and reference examples where identified. Please review individual lot descriptions and photographs carefully before bidding.

Many pieces in this auction remained in Dr. Bagale’s private collection for decades and are now being offered as part of the continuing dispersal of this remarkable lifetime collection.
