Savvy Downsizing & Estate Sales
Description & Details
Join Savvy this weekend for an estate sale of the owner of one of Washington, D.C.'s oldest carpeting and rug businesses and former Textile Museum board member.
The home showcases an extensive collection of rugs and tapestries, European and Eastern paintings, and collectibles from the owner's travels to the Middle East and the Far East.
As she frequently entertained clients within her home, the sale will include a wide range of sterling (including Gorham “Chantilly”, Rogers “Bridal Veil” and Theodore Starr services), silverplate, porcelain, and other entertaining essentials.
You will find handmade rugs and runners throughout the three levels of the home, including Kerman, tribal, Kilim, Kashan, Mogul, Kazak, Yalameh, Tabriz, Bidjar, Heriz, Turkish, and Sarouk-style rugs.
The furniture spans various styles: contemporary, Federal, French Provincial, Danish modern, Art Deco, Chippendale, Georgian, Louis Philippe, antique Turkish and Chinese cabinets, Victorian, and Queen Anne.
The artwork consists of still lifes, landscapes, portraits, prints, and textiles, including mounted suzanis.
In addition, there are decorative items such as statues, figurines, bronzes, and porcelain from Thailand, Central America, Japan, China, and India, as well as mirrors and sconces.
