Thatcher Estate Sales – "Sold Table" Policy
To ensure fairness for all customers—especially those who arrive early and wait in line for specific items—we enforce a "Sold Table" policy, not a "Hold Table" policy. The Sold Table is designated for items that a customer is actively purchasing. It allows shoppers to place their chosen items aside while they continue browsing. It is not a place to hold items temporarily while deciding whether or not to buy them. Creating large piles of items to sort through and selectively purchase later is not permitted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a fair and enjoyable shopping experience for everyone.

Description & Details
The Wiener Family Legacy: Estate of Bill Wiener Jr., AIA
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step inside the William B. Wiener House and experience the legacy of one of Shreveport's most influential design families, in person, for the first time ever.
This is more than an estate sale. It's a rare exhibition of Wiener family art and design, and a walk through a piece of Shreveport's architectural history. The Wiener Brothers shaped the look of this city for decades. Samuel G. Wiener and William B. Wiener Sr. were half-brothers and pioneering modernist architects whose work put Shreveport on the map as an unexpected center of modern design in America. Their buildings still stand across the city today.
This sale takes place inside the home built by that legacy, offering contents that have never before been available to the public. On view and for sale: indoor and outdoor sculpture by Bill Wiener Jr., AIA himself, whose massive works are recognizable across several Longleaf lawns but have never before come to market. Also included is rare art by Samuel G. Wiener and Samuel G. Wiener Jr., pieces that have stayed within the family and rarely surface for sale.
Come for the art. Stay for the history. Walk the rooms of a home tied to one of the most important architectural families in Louisiana's history.
This will be a hybrid sale. Most items are individually priced and available for purchase starting at opening, or anytime during the sale. Select pieces, including works by Sam G. Wiener Sr., Sam G. Wiener Jr., and the smaller sculptures by Bill Jr., will be sold through online auction. Bidding will go live in the coming week and run through the end of the sale. Further details and bidding info to come.
Parking: Street parking is limited. A shuttle will run continuously from a nearby church to the sale site. More details closer to the date.
More on the Wiener family history and full sale details to follow as we get closer to sale day.
Some very brief notes that will be expanded later:
- Most items, including the large outdoor sculptures will be priced and available for purchase in person.
- All other Wiener art will be listed in an online auction. The auction will go live this coming week. Bidding will close at 4pm on Saturday August 8th. A link to the auction with be added here and on Facebook.
- Longleaf Road an Longleaf Lane are narrow and parking will be tight. I highly recommend parking in the designated lot and taking advantage of the stuffle. I will post the location for shuttle pick up/drop off as soon as I have confirmation from the necessary parties.
