Ancient earthenware can tell an archaeologist far more than just what people drank from it, it reveals insights into their technology, trade networks, and cultural exchange  - - this sophisticated collection was like an excavation, where each item we unearthed offered a glimpse into the rich history and passions of its owners.

Bronze Age earthenware

Roman glass, with an iridescence, rainbow-like, metallic sheen on many Roman glass artifacts is not intentional but a result of natural aging. After centuries of being buried, chemical reactions caused by soil and moisture create mineralized layers on the surface that refract light.

One of a kind sculptures that blend use of ancient Roman glass, sterling silver and gold by Israeli modernist jeweler and sculptor Uri Ramot.  

The 950 silver single Candelabrum with a roman glass decorated fluted column, on tripod stand made of roaring lions, with mounted 4th century C.E. oil lamps and roman glass.

Additional standout pieces include:

Picasso, Sujet Poisson, translates to Fish Subject, in earthenware clay. This pitcher, painted in black and white, exhibits a grinning smile that gives it an animated, even humorous quality. Edition of 500.

Abstract painter Cleve Gray (1918-2004) was an American painter; the piece in this collection has a colorful yellow wash background with sweeping gestural brushstrokes that seemingly float above the surface.

Ben Schonzeit, Aatlto White, Acrylic on Canvas, 1986. A pioneer in the SoHo art scene of the 1960s and one of the leaders of the American Photorealist movement of the 1970s, he is best known for his gorgeous still lives of flowers - large, arresting canvases – seen in this piece that depicts a bouquet, larger than life, while lilies, tulips, and carnations to eucalyptus leaves to a grey toned tiled backsplash.

Odd Job by Alan Shields (1944–2005). Alan was an American painter and mixed-media artist known for his brightly colored, unstretched, and three-dimensional textile works. His work is held in the collections of major institutions around the world; an edition of Odd Job is in the collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Sorel Etroog (1933-2014), a Romanian-Canadian sculptor, painter and costume designer, began combining his monotone abstract-biomorphic bronze sculptures with technical-mechanic elements like screws and threads. Red enameled bronze, titled ‘Ballerina’.

Miguel Ángel Vidal (1928-2009) was a prominent Argentine artist. This piece is magnificent in person, it's difficult to show the layers of collage, as they become an optical illusion.

The Bronze age saw extensive trade, where vast international routes offered a connection to distant regions - this collection was gathered with the same devotion and curiosity as those adventurers.

A rare pair of Anhua decorated Yongle style bianhu moonflasks. These are expertly modeled with a flattened spherical body featuring two convex sides, supported by a rectangular foot and topped with a waisted neck and small bulb-shaped mouth. The body is intricately incised with lotus petals, radiating from a central medallion surrounded by a border and scrolling designs.

And a Chinese Export lidded tureen and oval platter, with two headed eagle. Inscribed in Latin: BURC-CO_TYR 1820X, Archid Avst Dux, translates to Archduchess of Austria, Maria Theresa Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol, 1820. Maria Theresa, was famous; the sole ruler of the Habsburg dominions from 1740 until her death. Her granddaughter, Maria Theresa of Austria-Este (1801–1855), held the Archduchess of Austria title in 1820.

The Plia Chair (1967), a lightweight, folding plastic and steel chair by Giancarlo Piretti, it is considered a symbol of democratic design and is featured in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Jean-Claude Malarmey, a French ceramic artist, born in 1932, was a prominent figure during the "Golden Age of Vallauris" pottery. He was known for his decorative and utilitarian pieces, which often featured hand-painted, stylized flora and fauna, like this collection, that features three bird form bowls and one straight edge bowl with tree style decoration.

Michel Barbier, he was a ceramic artist who worked closely with the Atelier du Mûrier pottery studio in Vallauris, France, in the 1950s and 1960s. Barbier's work is characterized by stylized, hand-painted birds and foliage motifs, like this owl form tray.

Swed Masters Workshop is a Jerusalem-based craftsman known for producing, is a family business with third-generation craftsmen. Take a closer look at the fine workmanship to understand why his works are sought after by collectors: beveled glass cabinet doors, with turn handle lock, open to reveal a menorah, shamash, and pitcher with a rimmed tray at underside. At top a handle, with bird finals. And at each end of the case, a find a visible hinged door, that opens to reveal a storage area for a dreidel, and nine cups for burning oil.

Ilana Goor jewelry. Goor is a renowned Israeli artist. Her pieces reflect a Brutalist and Surrealist aesthetic, featuring organic textures and unique, often quirky, imagery. Find that here, with this brooch in a oxidized metal with a perched bird at top.

Aliza Olmert (b. 1946) is an Israeli artist, author, photographer, and social worker, best known for her marriage to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Olmert's art frequently incorporates broken eggshells, symbolizing fragility, repair, and the process of healing. This notable piece features an eggshell held together with a safety pin.
