• Bidding: You are bidding on items as they are described on the website, not as they appear in any photograph. All lots and items are sold as-is, where is, with all faults, and with no express or implied warranties.

• Winning Bids: If you place a bid in this sale, and your bid is determined to be the winning bid, you become obligated to pay for the item(s) that you have won at the price you gave as your bid. The credit card associated with your account will be automatically charged for the full price of your purchases plus the buyer’s premium (typically 10%).
• Default: If you fail to pay for any item you have won for any reason, your account will be declared in default (see full terms for consequence of default).
• Picking Up Your Items: You are solely responsible for the safe and timely pick-up and removal of all items you win at this auction. Unless stated otherwise, the Auctioneer shall not hold items beyond the published removal times. The Auctioneer will not issue you a refund if you are unable to pick up and safely remove your items during the published removal times.
• Shipping and Handling is available. However, costs are not included in the final price. All parties are responsible for paying their own shipping costs once the amount has been determined based on the local USPS shipping rates. If an item does not fit in a USPS flat rate box, DO NOT BID ON IT. We will not ship it other than USPS Flat Rate. Your items will be charged to your credit card and an updated invoice with tracking number will be emailed to you.
• Abandonment: Any item that you do not pick up during the published removal times will be considered abandoned, and you will be charged a reasonable fee for the storage, removal, and/or disposal of the item.

Cates Auction & Real Estate Company

This estate auction features a wide-ranging collection of personal property, including precious metals, vintage collectibles, and unique household goods. Jewelry highlights include rings marked 14K, 10K, and 18K gold, such as a men’s monogrammed onyx ring, a black onyx ring with a small center diamond, a red stone pinky ring, and a group of plain gold bands. Sterling silver items include a matching wedding ring set with a solitaire center stone and multiple other rings with round clear stones. A selection of costume jewelry is also available.

The timepiece offerings include an antique Illinois pocket watch and several men’s wristwatches, with varying degrees of wear and unknown functionality. Coin lots include Eisenhower dollars, Susan B. Anthony dollars, foreign coins, 50-cent pieces, and commemorative tokens. One lot features vintage men’s accessories, including a Ronson table lighter, Larado cigarette maker, antique Gillette razor, and tobacco papers.

The auction also features folk art and antique decor, such as a 19th-century watercolor portrait in an oval frame, a framed botanical print on textile, and vintage children’s plates with nursery rhyme illustrations, including Porky Pig and pieces marked Germany. Collectors will find a 1929 edition of A Story of Our Gang with a 50-ft 16mm film reel, as well as decorative tins, including a Tower Tea tin and plum pudding mold.

Additional lots include a Keen Kutter whetstone in its original box, antique and vintage hardware, a red Gilbert Big Boy tool box (no tools), and a small assortment of lighting items like coal miner’s lamps and oil burners. Rounding out the sale are groupings of household items such as colanders, containers, resin art trivets, and decorative framed prints.
