We've got quite a bit to cover this week at Kansas City's Thursday Night Auction, including the first offering from an enormous collection of approximately 14,000 Hot Wheels, an interesting assortment of militaria spanning different countries and historical periods, more furniture than we've had in recent weeks, antique radios, musical instruments, vinyl records, advertising, collectibles, and so much more.
Let's start with the Hot Wheels. We've recently taken in a collection numbering approximately 14,000 cars, and this Thursday marks the beginning of what will be a series of offerings over future auctions. Whether you're a dedicated Hot Wheels collector, a reseller, or someone who simply remembers playing with these little cars, you'll want to keep an eye on what comes through over the coming weeks. We're just getting started.
We're also bringing in quite a bit of militaria this week, with pieces representing different nations, conflicts, and eras. Among the more interesting examples is an Imperial German Model 1883 Reichsrevolver, a distinctive piece of late-19th-century military firearms history. There's plenty more for military collectors and history enthusiasts to explore, including edged weapons and other military-related material.
Furniture takes up more room than usual this week, too. If you've been waiting for an opportunity to furnish a room, add an interesting accent piece, or find something for your shop or next project, this would be a particularly good week to come have a look. As always, there's a difference between seeing a piece of furniture in a photograph and standing in front of it.
We've also got antique radios and other vintage electronics, along with musical instruments, vinyl records, and music-related collectibles. There's something appealing about this older equipment, whether you're a collector, musician, decorator, or simply someone who appreciates the craftsmanship and character of things from another era.
Signs and advertising are back in the mix, along with coins, jewelry, vintage toys and games, knives, artwork, glassware, porcelain, china, household antiques, collectibles, and the usual assortment of things we don't always know how to categorize. Some pieces appeal to serious collectors, others to resellers, decorators, or people who simply enjoy finding something a little different.
And, of course, there's plenty more. We've put 1,133 preview pictures online along with this week's video, and even with all those photos, there's no substitute for coming down and seeing everything in person. The Wednesday preview is your opportunity to take a closer look, inspect the merchandise, and get a feel for what's coming across the block.
