Happy Camper Estate Sales
Description & Details
🏌️‍♀️ HELLO EMERYWOOD.
Campers, polish the station wagon, locate your good pearls, and
try to act like you’ve been somewhere before.
We’re headed to one of High Point’s most fabulous neighborhoods for a sale that is
sophisticated, beautifully preserved, wildly stylish—and sitting directly across from High Point Country Club.
And just a couple of doors down?
The former home of the Thayer Coggin family.
Yes. Furniture royalty lived down the street.
Frankly, the whole neighborhood feels like it was developed under the strict understanding
that nobody would ever purchase an ugly chair.
This home looks as though it stepped straight out of a 1950s home-and-garden magazine,
poured itself a cocktail, adjusted the drapes, and waited patiently for Happy Camper to arrive.
And arrive we have.
✨ MID-CENTURY—BUT MAKE IT EMERYWOOD
This is not your stereotypical mid-century house filled with plastic chairs, atomic starbursts, and
one extremely uncomfortable sofa nobody is allowed to sit on.
Oh no.
This is the elegant side of mid-century design: warm woods, traditional silhouettes, beautiful upholstery,
original artwork, fine china, and furniture with names, lineage, and possibly its own investment portfolio.
The furniture lineup includes:
🛋️ Tomlinson
🛋️ Henredon
🛋️ Hickory Chair
🛋️ Heywood-Wakefield
🛋️ Kodawood
🛋️ Permacraft
That is not a furniture list.
That is a High Point society page with dovetail joints.
These are substantial, beautifully made pieces from the days when you bought furniture once—
and then three generations argued over who got it.
Meanwhile, the china cabinet is over there looking superior with:
🍽️ Epiag
🍽️ Castleton
🍽️ Villeroy & Boch
You may not currently be the sort of person who serves dinner on fine china.
That could change remarkably quickly.
Elsewhere in this extremely well-dressed house:
🎨 Original oil paintings on canvas
✨ Silverplate
🖼️ Beautiful wall décor
đź‘— Vintage clothing
🔥 Vintage gas-pump globes
🥣 Pyrex and CorningWare
🎄 Holiday décor
📚 Books
🏺 Collectibles
🍳 Housewares
💅 Home décor with more confidence than most people
You’ll also find small appliances by Black & Decker, Oster, and Sunbeam,
plus electronicsby Roku, Sharp, Magnavox, and Insignia.
The entire home is beautifully curated, exceptionally maintained, and blessedly free from the
decorating decisions that caused the 1980s to owe all of us an apology.
This is High Point furniture history in its natural habitat—just across from the country club, a few doors
away from the former Coggin home, and surrounded by enough old-school Emerywood elegance to
make you stand a little straighter while digging through the Pyrex.
So put on something respectable.
Or don’t.
We know you’re going to crawl underneath a table to inspect the maker’s mark anyway.
Campers, we’re going to Emerywood—and things are about to get tastefully unhinged.
