We have got a packed sale for you - four floors worth!

This is Serendipity’s first foray into the estate of an “excessive collector”.  He collected EVERYTHING and lots of it.

Lawrence (Larry) Chirico was passionate about art of all kinds with particular affinities for classical and Asian motifs which he gained an appreciation for during his travels throughout Europe and Asia.  His love of painting is evident as his works are many and displayed throughout the house. He shared his passion for art with others, teaching within the Catholic Diocese, Amherst, Grand Island, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda and Ken-Ton school districts.  He also taught general art classes at summer camp programs in the area. 

Items of interest include:

Special Interest:

Oswald Völkel (German) 1873-1952 “The Mother of God” 1924, 38” x 22” oil on canvas in the neo-baroque style. Völkel is a listed artist who primarily worked on ceiling and alter pieces, making copies primarily for the Dioceses of Augsburg. 

Benjamin O’Fallan Raborg (American) 1871-1918 69” x 30”oil on canvas after “After The Bath” 1881, and “Pets” 1885 by Conrad Kissel (German-American) 1846-1921. Raborg was the nephew of California artist Astley David Middleton Cooper (listed artist). They spent a great deal of time painting together at Astley’s San Francisco studio.  Raborg is known primarily portrait painter.
