Description & Details
Please join us for a curated sale of the collection of Marty Golia, a beloved father, brother, friend, a character of Fairport, NY and a lifelong collector of all things vintage, esoteric, and visually interesting.
Marty had an affinity for the Mid Century aesthetic exemplified in his large Tiki Bar collection featuring figures, mugs and souvenirs, his World’s Fair Collection, Drive-In Movie ephemera, Beer signs, Halloween Blow Molds, Christmas Decor and his vast collection featuring Pin Up Girls, specifically in several glass sets/barware
Walking around Marty’s house, his love for the 50’s and 60’s is apparent. With décor, housewares and Mid Century Furniture featuring pieces by Herman Miller, American of Martinsville, and Shaw Walker, Marty’s collection reflects decades of curation. Marty had such a keen eye and love for the unique, exemplified in his large Fez/Shriner collection, Chinese Checker boards and countless Big Eye kid prints.
Marty’s kitchen is no exception as it’s filled with all vintage Platters, Dish Sets, Cookware, Coffee Makers, Toasters and his revered collection of brand Mascot Figures and Thermoses’. Marty’s love of the area is exemplified in his Gennesee Beer collection, and Heywood Wakefield Seats from the Dryden Theater, one of his favorite Rochester locations..
Marty collected toys and memorabilia his whole life and his many collections feature Comic Book Superheroes, Universal Monsters, Peanuts, Rat Fink/Weird Ohs models and also several various Toys and Games from the 50’s through the 90’s. There are also tons of books; old paperbacks, film books and art books.
We will also have clothes from Marty and family’s wardrobe which includes vintage clothing (from all different eras,) Bowling Shirts, Hawaiian Shirts and several Personalized Work Shirts, none of which were ever accurate to Marty’s name nor where he worked.
