Description & Details

Vision & Vasari is honored to present the Estate of Marijo Gill Browne Blue, 96, of Columbus, Ohio.

Marijo lived a life rich in elegance, adventure, and unending curiosity. Her travels took her from safaris in South Africa to unexpected adventures in Venezuela—and even a whirlwind sightseeing marathon through London at age 90.

Born on March 13, 1928, in Columbus, she began modeling in high school and later became the face of Ohio State University’s football stadium advertisements while earning a degree in art education. In the 1960s, she modeled high fashion for Neiman Marcus in Dallas.

Marijo’s true passion was art, particularly oil painting. She devoted her career to teaching and championing the arts, first at Columbus School for Girls and later as assistant director of the Columbus Museum of Art. Her creative spirit and love of learning left a lasting impression on generations of students and colleagues.

Vision & Vasari is honored to present select items from Marijo’s estate at her Upper Arlington home this weekend. The collection includes personal treasures she gathered over a lifetime, as well as artifacts inherited from her Aunt Olive, who lived and worked in China and Japan.
