Description & Details

Bert Gallery Studio Sales is a specialized American art auction based in Providence, Rhode Island. Established in 1985, Bert Gallery was founded to showcase and preserve the rich tradition of the Providence School of artists within the broader context of American art. Today, the gallery is expanding its audience through curated online auctions. The gallery focuses on significant historic Rhode Island and New England artists who reflect major styles and movements in American art. This upcoming fall online auction, running from September 22nd, features art from the collections of two prominent Providence estates, including works by Aldro Hibbard, Emile Gruppe, Italo Scanga, and Pablo Picasso. Notable historic New England artists Antonio Cirino, Henry Newell Cady, and Grace Albee are also included.
The auction is curated by gallery owner Catherine Little Bert, who brings over 40 years of experience researching, writing, and lecturing on Providence School artists and the regional historic art scene. She has organized more than 100 exhibitions for the gallery and regional art institutions. All works in the auction have been thoroughly catalogued and researched. Inquiries are welcome.
