This is your chance to bid in the family estate of Texas Rancher, Business & Civic Leader, Mr. James Wood (deceased), of the Denton and Decatur Auto Dealerships that bear his name. Live Oak Auctions is honored to handle the James Wood Family Ranch Estate that can be described as nothing less than exquisite. Exquisite Furniture, Exquisite Decor, and Exquisite Collections, that were amassed by Mr. and Mrs. Wood since their marriage in 1959, reflect a life of high style, quality, and yes- exquisite taste throughout the decades.
The Woods were longtime Decatur Residents where Mr. Wood was a major Civic Leader and Mrs. Wood was a lifelong Art Enthusiast. Many pieces from Mrs. Wood’s Private Collection are up for bid in this auction. These are pieces that Mrs. Shirley Wood (deceased) painted, they are professionally and ornately framed, and they prove that she was quite a talented artist in her own right. Whether painted by Mrs. Wood or not, all of the art in this Estate is exquisite and ornately framed.
Furniture selections include Drexel Heritage Chippendale-Marquetry, Baker Furniture Art Deco, Antique Italian Neoclassical Inlay, Italian Rococo, George III Carved Walnut, American Eastlake Victorian, Hooker Furniture Beladora, and a Banded Mahogany with Inlaid Parquetry and Neoclassical Detail Gateleg Table that is sure to be a favorite. The list goes on and on but surely we have your attention and have hit one of your styles with this list.
Decor includes two Stained Glass Art Deco Pieces, more and more of that aforementioned art, Classical Statues and Urns, Religious Art, Farmhouse Chic, Western & Ranch, French Empire, Tuscan, Scandinavian, Art Nouveau, and the list is too extensive to complete. Waterford Crystal, Bohemian Cut to Clear Glass, Limoges, Mikasa & Noritake China, and that coveted Culver Gold Plated Mid Century Barware is here for you to explore and win. Don’t leave the auction without viewing that set of Wallace Sterling Silverware that is nothing less than, well - exquisite.
