Items of Value, Inc
Description & Details
This 3-day sale will bring back memories of many other sales we have had in a rambler-style house with full basement, the entire house packed with vintage items. The house is so full, that we had to move items around just to set up our checkout table. We also had to bring in folding shelves to have vertical space to display items that were packed into the corner cupboard and elsewhere. The basement is as full as the main floor, including vintage LPs, bar items, figurines, also an artificial Christmas tree decorated with ornaments. One is a vintage silvertone (mercury-covered ?) glass teapot.
You will thoroughly enjoy discovering the myriad items we have for sale. Note that the kitchen dining area was done in a country theme. Even the hanging reproduction oil lamp is for sale. Vintage linens you will find in the basement. If you can lift it, there is a cylindrical post fountain on the screened porch sitting in a tin tub partially filled with stones. You will also find some hand tools for sale. There are a lot of what we call "cutsies" in this sale. They include Amish-style dolls and doll furniture, figurines, metal boxes, holiday decorations. This is in addition to the hoard of vintage china and silverplate.
You will discover the American flag on pole as you start down the hallway. You will discover vintage glass mixing bowls and casseroles on shelves in the dining area. You will discover MANY Christmas items in the basement rooms.
You collectors should note the following items: graduated set of food mixing bowls in good condition, Franciscan pink apple (?) blossom pattern, gilt rim china, vintage secretary bookcase, 1950s Lionel train engine and cars, engraved steer horn, three RARE vintage hanging shelves of which two with mirrored back. Who of you will take home the framed Elvis Presley portrait? Who of you will buy the historic newspapers?
On the antique side, look for two antique (now electrified) oil lamps, the round antique oak table in the kitchen, the antique oak washstand in the master bedroom, and the RARE matched pair of cast iron bases for round table tops in the basement. They must have been used in an ice cream parlor. There is also a vintage washstand with railed top over single apron drawer in one bedroom. By contrast, the light gray suede sofa and the matching overstuffed armchair in the living room are like new. They are in fine condition.
Please bring empty boxes with you as we have none to offer you. By exception, we are hoping to have this house empty by 4pm on Sunday. So, beginning at noon on Suday, we are opening sales to bids. THE SIGN-IN PAD FOR ENTRY FRIDAY MORNING IS ALREADY SITTING OUTSIDE THE SCREENED PORCH FRONT DOOR FOR YOU.
