Savvy will be in McLean, VA, this weekend for a sale at the home of a serious collector of 18th- and 19th-century early American pieces. This home is not to be missed for its selection of primitive baskets and boxes, quilts, militaria, and vintage toys, making it an ideal choice for those looking to add a unique piece to their homes.
Many of the items included in the sale were acquired from leading collectors and dealers, including Priscilla Hutchinson, Chris Rebello, Ken Farmer, Eleanor Lynn & Elizabeth Monahan, Douglas Ramsay, Carol Trela, Firehouse Antiques, Studio Antiques, Dodge Olmstead, The Cobbs, Muleskinner, HK Antiques, The Sampler, and others.
You will find beautifully upholstered furniture, a wide selection of rugs, painted chairs and benches, blanket chests, a variety of Sheraton and Hepplewhite pieces, and an American mahogany double-pedestal oval table.
The collection also includes U.S. and European militaria, ranging from World War I to the Gulf War, featuring books, pamphlets, Army uniforms, medals, insignia, flags, and helmets.
The kitchen features vintage stoneware, bowls, and glassware, as well as Montes Doggett plates and serving pieces, alongside cookware from Staub, All-Clad, Le Creuset, and Cuisinart.
