Art and Pattern Glass

The sale opens with a deep run of glass spanning several centuries and styles. A set of medical apothecary jars and a charming run of milk glass hen on nest dishes lead into fine cut crystal, including Stuart Crystal stemware, a crystal pitcher, a crystal hand-cut pitcher, and a hobstar motif bowl, alongside a thumbprint glass compote bowl. Pattern glass collectors will find an Imperial Glass collection, a Wisconsin Beaded Dewdrop pressed glass collection, and a Tennessee pressed glass collection. Color and glow define much of the rest of the section: a UV lemonade tankard and glasses, uranium glass bottles, and Jeanette Glass Hellenic Corinthian blue cups sit alongside pink Depression plates and glasses, cobalt blue drinking glassware, and a Radiant Ruby Morgantown goblet and coupe collection. Mitchell signed Spring Morning painting leads a strong group of paintings and watercolors, joined by two Peter Briant watercolors depicting Marblehead Light and Spring Point Ledge Light, a lush river landscape and a rural landscape, both in gilt frames, a Derk Smit autumn woodland scene, and a Marilyn Bendell floral still life. Further signed works include a W. Jones harbor scene, a Betty Guy San Francisco watercolor, an H. Jones limited edition print, a set of Louise B. Hansen watercolor landscapes, and a signed W. Shattuck watercolor set, along with an L. Fendig original watercolor. Two 19th century hand colored satirical works, a Bohm cartoon collection by J. Gillray and an 1833 piece by C.J.
