Rivers Edge Sales — Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the services, websites, listings, and in-person sales operated by Rivers Edge Sales (“Rivers Edge,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By purchasing from us online or in person you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Rivers Edge Sales is a family-owned antiques and collectibles business based near Charlottesville, Virginia. We sell smaller items online and make larger pieces available for local pickup and at occasional in-person sales.

2. Scope and other terms
These Terms apply to all sales and interactions with Rivers Edge, including:
Our website and any pages we control
Our online marketplace listings, including eBay and similar platforms
In-person sales and scheduled local pickups
If you buy through a marketplace such as eBay, that marketplace’s terms and policies also apply.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to purchase from Rivers Edge. If you buy on behalf of a business you confirm that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
4. Item descriptions and condition
Many items are vintage, antique, pre-owned, or handmade. These items commonly show age, patina, wear, or small imperfections.
We describe condition in good faith and provide photographs and measurements whenever possible.
Measurements are approximate. Color may vary due to lighting and display settings.
Accessories, props, and backgrounds shown in photos are not included unless stated in the listing.
Unless we state otherwise, items are offered as is with no manufacturer warranty.
If you need additional photos or clarifications, please ask before purchasing.
5. Pricing, tax, and payment
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change without notice before a purchase is completed.
Virginia sales tax is collected when required by law. If you claim tax-exempt status you must provide a valid exemption certificate before purchase.
We accept the payment methods stated on the listing page or invoice. For marketplace orders, payment methods are controlled by that platform.
6. Holds, deposits, and layaway
We generally do not hold items without a deposit. Any hold or layaway arrangement must be confirmed by us in writing and may require a non-refundable deposit. If you do not complete payment by the agreed date we may cancel the hold and resell the item.
7. Shipping, local pickup, and risk of loss
Shipping. For items we ship, we package with care. Shipping carrier, cost, and timeline will be shown at checkout or on your invoice. You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier accepts the shipment.
Local pickup. Larger items are available for pickup by appointment within the pickup window stated in the listing or invoice. Please bring appropriate help, blankets, and equipment to load your item safely. We cannot load items into vehicles. If you miss the pickup window without contacting us, storage fees or order cancellation may apply.
Freight or third-party transport. If you hire a shipper, that service is your agent. Risk of loss passes to you when the shipper collects the item.
8. Returns, cancellations, and refunds
Because our items are vintage or unique, all sales are final unless a listing clearly states a return policy or we agree otherwise in writing.
If an item arrives significantly not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and a clear description. We will work with you in good faith on a solution.
For marketplace orders, the marketplace’s return policies may also apply.
For local pickup, please inspect items before loading. Once the item leaves our premises the sale is final.
Any approved return must be in the same condition as delivered and shipped back using comparable packaging and insurance. Unless we are at fault, shipping costs are not refundable.
9. Event sale guidelines and safety
For any in-person sale or preview:
Enter property and buildings at your own risk.
Follow on-site signs and staff directions.
Children must be supervised. Pets are not permitted inside.
We reserve the right to limit entry, refuse service, or pause the sale for safety or operational reasons.
10. Prohibited conduct
Do not engage in conduct that is unlawful, disruptive, or abusive toward our staff, customers, or property. Do not attempt to interfere with our website or listings, scrape content, or misrepresent your identity or authority.
11. Intellectual property
All photos, text, logos, and other content we publish are owned by Rivers Edge or used with permission. You may not copy or use them without our written consent, except for fair use and as allowed by law.
12. Privacy

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
We provide the website, listings, and services on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Rivers Edge, its owners, and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the item at issue.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations. In those cases, those provisions apply only to the extent permitted.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Rivers Edge harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our services, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
15. Changes to listings and availability
We may correct errors, update descriptions, or withdraw items at any time prior to sale. If we cancel an order due to an error or unavailability, your payment will be refunded.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state courts located in Fluvanna County or the federal court serving that region, unless applicable marketplace rules require a different forum.
17. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, fires, power failures, carrier or supply chain disruptions, labor issues, government actions, or public health events.
18. Severability and entire agreement
If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms form the entire agreement between you and Rivers Edge regarding the subject matter and supersede prior communications.
