NOTE ABOUT EXTENDED BIDDING & “SOFT CLOSE”
Seattle Vintage uses Auction Ninja's platform for online auctions utilize extended bidding, also known as "soft close." This method replicates the feel of a live auction in a digital setting. Just like in person, where bidders can raise their offers until the hammer falls, our system allows for last-minute bids.
Specifically, if a bid is placed within the final five minutes of a lot's scheduled closing, the closing time automatically extends. This provides other potential buyers a chance to respond with higher bids. This process can repeat multiple times per lot depending on bidder engagement. Once the bidding activity on a lot stops, the countdown will conclude and the lot will close.
