Mary Sudar Appraisals and Estate Sales
Description & Details
Once upon a time, back in the early 1900s,
in Tacoma’s beautiful North End,
the son of a lumber baron built a substantial home overlooking Puget Sound for his family.
Decades later, a couple re-discovered and rescued the residence,
bringing it back to its former glory
with detailed woodwork, beautiful windows and hidden gardens.
And now we have been asked to sell the treasures inside and outside,
the result of two lifetimes of collecting
and a heritage that reaches back deep into the area’s history.
Even after a fantastic response from those who attended the first weekend,
there is still a houseful of treasures to be discovered,
Art & Antiques, Memorabilia & Ephemera, pieces large and small,
including items we simply did not have space to display for the first sessions.
So even if you've already made one -- or two or three -- trips through,
you will see items you never saw before.
And now we have discounted prices on everything remaining,
Top to Bottom, Inside and Out, North to South and East to West.
Included are vintage and antique furniture from Around the World,
two impressive Francesco Ligozzi semi-precious stone inlaid tables,
original Continental and American paintings
including fantastical works by Spokane artist Kay O'Rourke and other Northwest artists
and original prints.
Impressive antique stained and leaded glass windows
including a rare English 8'+ transom panel.
Pottery and porcelain including dozens of pieces from Italy, France and Asia,
including Deruta, Quimper, Kutani, Satsuma, Arita.
Handmade Oriental carpets and exotic textiles.
Small treasures tucked here and there, including silver and jewelry and bibelots.
A roomful of vintage clothing. Architectural details including old hand carved
Chinese temple pieces, an unusual pair of Edwardian cast iron balustrades,
and antique oak linenfold panels.
Books and more books on art, history, gardens and travel. Musical instruments.
And the garden -- oh my, the Garden
-- accessories, pots, statuary, columns --
one of our most popular items as we discover the joys
of those extra Outside Rooms just over our Thresholds.
In consideration of the scale and quality of this sale,
and its historic setting, we are once again launching these Markdown Sessions
