When both of my parents died suddenly, I had no idea how I was going to deal with all their stuff. They had a large house full of 60 years of things, where do you begin? How do you go through it all? How do you sell it? What is even worth selling? I already have a job and this was looking like another full time job. I called a couple of companies that had been recommended, but none of them could simply handle it. Thankfully, someone gave me Arnie's number. Portland Area Peeps! If you are getting ready to move and/or just seriously getting rid of accumulated stuff, I encourage you to save yourself time, energy, and money by calling A&S Estate Sales, which is the company I was fortunate to have on my team when I recently moved from my/our home of many years to a lovely but much much smaller condo. With A&S (Arnie & Sura) managing my estate sale, I was able to focus on where I was going instead of where I'd been. From beginning to end, they individually were consummate professionals - and made certain everyone else on their team were the same.

So many things they brought to the table that made my estate sale successful, including:

1. Honest to the core. It didn't take long before I knew I'd hired a company whose ethos was/is honesty and impeccable service. With every last item inventoried, itemized, and labeled, there was never any question about what sold and/or for how much.

2. Experience. Another "right from the beginning," I knew this wasn't their "first rodeo." Each of the principals, Arnie & Sura focused on their specific roles and managed their supporting teams. Sura's side was especially great, transforming my house into a giant showroom. In my wildest imagination, I would never have envisioned she/they could do this in such a short amount of time.

3. Easy to work with. Because this was a first-time event for me, I probably wasn't the easiest client in the world. More than once I changed my mind about items that were supposed to go into the sale but they never flinched or made it clear I was breaching the rules of estate sales.

4. They just know what they are talking about. I was astonished how much research they individually did before pricing items, especially the collectables. By the time potential customers were actually in the "showroom," both Sura and Arnie (and their teams) knew the history, provenance, and true value of each item in the sale.

5. Broom clean. Now, we get to the point that I had the most concern about. The sales' agreement for my house specified that I would have to leave the place "broom clean!" Well, this was a big place and I was concerned about how I was ever going to get it nearly immaculate before moving out. Well, any fear I had was replaced with amazement and delight. Within two days after the estate sale, A&S had taken agreed-upon stuff/junk to the dump, cleaned the place, and I breathed a sigh of relief, never looking back.

So, for these and many more reasons, I give the highest encouragement to anyone thinking about moving to first call Arnie & Sura at A&S Estate Sales.

In August 2017, The City of Lake Oswego Public Works Department contracted with A&S Estate Sales of Oregon for the liquidation of the old office building, as the City was moving to a newly constructed office building. A&S was the lowest bid for the defined scope of work under the contract, which included the staging and execution of an on-site liquidation sale, as well as the removal of all zero value and unsold items after the sale. I would like to highly recommend A&S Estate Sales to any business or individual looking for help with a liquidation sale.
Arnie and his amazing team worked with us for over a month when we wrapped our 6 year television series in Portland.
Our needs were quite different than most of Arnie's previous clients, but that didn't faze him at all....he skillfully rose to the challenge.
When Grimm finished shooting in January 2017, we were left with several large warehouses of furniture, props, costumes and equipment that we needed to liquidate quickly and efficiently. A&S came to our rescue.
Besides organizing an enormous volume of stock and handling the logistics of turning a commercial warehouse into a public sale space, A&S also had to deal with "input" from crewmembers, landlords, lawyers, publicists, reporters and even the fire marshall. Arnie's team was respectful and attentive to everyone's issues while continuing to focus on their main task of setting up the sale.
On the first morning of the 9 day sale, there were over 1000 people waiting in line when the doors opened. I don't think I've ever seen anyone work harder than the teams Arnie had assembled to handle the sales, service and security.
At the end of the 9 days, the formerly "packed from floor-to-ceiling on all three floors" warehouse was completely empty and spotlessly clean. It was unbelievable!

A&S Estate Sales of Oregon did an outstanding job with my mothers big mess of an estate sale. Arnie was very professional and personable.

I called a few other agents, one didn't want it because it wasn't full of expensive furniture and 2 others never returned my calls. Arnie picked up on and was on on the ball until the last day.
He worked very hard to get top dollar for everything and did sell at least 90%. In the end he also removed the rest and donated it all which was a huge help & relief.

Our mother and father had been collecting treasures for over 50 years. Their 5,000 square foot home was full of antiques and primitives. Some of the one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces had been designed by our artistic father. Our family knew we would not do justice to the items with a simple sale. We needed help.

A & S Estate Sales of Oregon was interviewed and selected and we know we made the right choice. Arnie and Sura spent weeks inventorying and researching the items. As they worked, we felt they respected our family’s feelings and property. They were very thorough. Pictures, coins, and family mementoes were uncovered and returned. On 12 May 2016 I contacted A&S Estate Sales of Oregon and spoke with Arnie Valdivia to see whether he handled sales of wood working tools. He said he did so we made a date for the next day for him to come look over the shop in our house. He arrived promptly and after looking over the voluminous (but orderly) collection of small and larger machines and hand tools it was agreed that he would do the sale. 10 or so days later he spent two to three days going through everything, organizing and pricing, with the one day sale being held on 28 May. Arnie had arranged for publicity, and almost everything sold. The following day he returned to do the final cleanup and take away those items that had not sold so that he could try to sell them elsewhere. At the first of August I received a check in the mail from A&S Estate Sales for these final items. Arne was a pleasure to work with, friendly, low key and calm. He showed up when he said he would, and if he was going to be late he always called to let me know. He has a nice family too; his wife and aunt came with him on the day before the sale to help out.
