This is 1909 Philadelphia Caramel "E95" baseball card of Ed Cicotte, who was banned from baseball because of the betting scandal in the 1919 World Series. In 1909 Cicotte pitched for Boston and was included in a limited series of cards that included the best players of the time. Cicotte was a great pitcher for many years and would probably be in the Hall of Fame but for the betting scandal of the 1919 World Series that led to his being banned from baseball with Shoeless Joe Jackson and some other Chicago White Sox players. PSA has authenticated only slightly more than 100 cards for Ed Cicotte from this series. This card has been authenticated by PSA and graded PSA 1. The card shows wear, but is great collectible.
