Victorian Platform Rocking Chair, c. 1870s–1890s — Glencoe, MD Estate Provenance Mahogany-finished Victorian rocker with a tall, shield-shaped sleigh-curved crest rail and shaped show-wood arms ending in carved hand rests, set on a spring/platform rocker base — the more refined "parlor" style rather than a plain kitchen rocker. Eastlake/Renaissance Revival influence throughout. Reupholstered in the late 1980s in a high-end red-on-white vine print, matching an 8–9 ft sofa also available in this sale (not pictured). Originally from the family's ancestral estate in Glencoe, Maryland, passed down through four generations before coming to Kelsey Farm.
