This sale came from a collector of many items including the large collection of books, publications and miscellaneous items produced by Dale Patrick Chihuly world famous blown glass artist based in Seattle area of Washington.
Many of the books and publications are signed copies. Some have special signings and notes to those who were attending special occasions held by the artist.
Dale Chihuly was born in 1941 in Washington and became a revolutionary in contemporary glass by creating an art form of large-scale fine art glass sculptures.
He was exposed to glass works while studying interior design at the University of Washington. His interest in glass and techniques continued and he received a Fulbright Scholarship to Venini glass factory in Venice where he learned the "team blowing method" which defines his studio practice today and the unique, colorful glass creation designs he has created.
His Pilchuck Glass School is an international center for glass art innovation. His creations are found in 200+ museum collections worldwide PLUS individual locations.
This collection displays in radiant color full page photos. Others contain notes on rough drafts on the techniques to use, locations and recipients of the final product AND SO MUCH MORE!
Almost all items are like-new. If not, they will be described with the displayed item.
