Sold Unfinished Art Deco Oil by Local Artist Eugene Iverd

Up for bid is an unfinished Art Deco oil by famed local Erie artist and Saturday Evening Post illustrator, Eugene Iverd. His work was on the same level as Norman Rockwell, however, he wasn’t as prolific of an artist, simply because of his untimely death at 43.

He had trained other notable Erie artists, such as Joseph Plavcan, among others and his work can be found at the Hagen History Center. His work rarely if ever comes up for sale. This is one of two oils in the auction.
