Hi Everyone! Join us along the shores of North East, for an incredibly diverse three-part online auction, featuring a captivating mix of incredible period art and furnishings, unique decor, primitives, textiles, vintage one-of-a-kind toys and memorabilia (of course), machinery from the Marx plant, and wonderful selection of collectibles ready to be re-homed and adorned in your own space.

Long retired after spending a career in toy design at Marx Toys, ultimately venturing off with a partner to start his own toy manufacturing company, patenting many toys and keeping many kids and parents happy along the way, the gentleman also enjoyed the art of curating and collecting. As you can tell from the offerings in the auction, Phil had a tasteful eye for the unique. Recently, he has decided to downsize from his fabulous lighthouse home along the lake.

Part I of the online auction will feature the furnishings, decor, art and all-around cool stuff, followed up by Part II(Tools, Equipment, Etc.) and the finale, Part III(Awesome Collectibles, Toys and More). Take a look around the gallery of offerings and be delighted!

The auction will be hosted at estatesales.net, where you'll be able to bid from the comfort of your own home. If you haven't already done so, you'll need to set-up a simple account at estatesales.net to start bidding. An example of the bidding process can be found below. The pick-up date for winning bidders is slated for Monday, September 3rd from 10am-5pm. If you are a winning bidder, you'll receive an email at the conclusion of the sale with the exact address and any additional instruction. Good luck and have fun with this online bidding experience. Thanks for looking!

Bidding Process

The online auction bidding is a "hard close" process, similar to Ebay, as opposed to a "soft close" process used by other online auction platforms, which extends the time if there is active bidding towards the end. There is no time extension using this particular platform. The bidding ends when the allotted time for each item expires, which is displayed under each item, Also, entering a maximum "max" bid doesn't necessarily mean you will pay your maximum bid. The system will automatically keep bidding on your behalf against other bidders up to your placed "max" bid for convenience purposes.

-Bidding Example

You are bidding on a lamp and place a max bid of $58.00 towards the end of the auction. The auction ends on the item and you win the item for $39.00. This means the next highest bidder had a high bid of $38.00, however you were willing to go up to $58.00. Your maximum bid doesn’t automatically jump to that amount when you place the bid. The bid only is increased if there are other bidders actively bidding on the item. Your maximum bids are hidden from other bidders, essentially creating a level playing field.
