This rectangular-shaped powder jar is known as "Martha Washingtonõs Trinket Box."
The finial is comprised of three figures
Representing Martha Washington in the center, accompanied by a young boy on one side and a young girl on the opposite side. The four-footed base is embossed with garlands of roses.
The manufacturer of this powder jar has been identified as the New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company during the years 1937-1944.
These jars were filled with powder and when emptied were designed to be refilled or used as trinket or jewelry boxes.
Due to all of the sharp edges on this jar it is very hard to find one without damage.
