Exceptional, one of a kind hand sewn quilt and two accompanying pillows which feature 25 charming vintage (c1979) hand sewn patchwork panels depicting scenes from village life in rural South America.

The quilt and pillows have been made especially for the panels. Each panel depicts a lively scene from the village life of farmers and peasants in South America. Various fabrics have been stitched by hand to make each panel. Some figures within the panels are depicted with thread and layered fabric for a three dimensional effect.

The panels were made by young artisans from the villages and farms which are depicted in the panel scenes. Some quilts are signed in stitching by the maker/artisan and others also feature a stitched caption such as “Amistad” (which means friendship in Spanish).

This is an absolutely unique work of folk art. The panels are one of a kind as is the quilt. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional, vintage, work of folk art.

At the top, rear, of the quilt is a sleeve for inserting a hanging rod.
