There are three other matching prints in this set: B19 The Statesman, B20 The Catchpole, and B21 The Serjeant's Tongue. This one is dated March 1, 1816. The drawing and etching for these works was done by a prolific satirical artist of the time Thomas Rowlandson 1756-1827. These particular prints came from a 2 volume book called the English Dance with Death. The book was printed by Rudolph Ackermann, written by William Combe, and illustrated by Thomas Rowlandson; copies of which sell for $1000 and up, and both volumes for around $4,500. This illustration came from volume I, and there are two that came from volume II and one more from volume I. This is the concluding illustration of the series, it is the last image in volume II.Originally the illustrations and writings were released in 24 monthly parts from 1814-1816. This print and the three in the set are matted and framed in gold matching frames.
