Miriam Haskell (1899–1981) was a pioneering American businesswoman and designer who founded one of the most famous costume jewelry companies of the 20th century.
Opening her New York City boutique in 1926, she became renowned for creating intricate, high-quality, and affordable jewelry that was widely collected by Hollywood stars and socialites. Alongside her chief designer, Frank Hess, Haskell pioneered a signature style characterized by gilded filigree metalwork, colorful glass beads, and faux baroque pearls, all meticulously wired together by hand without glue.
Her eponymous brand, Haskell Jewels, remains highly sought after by vintage collectors today.
