Marini was an Italian graphic artist, painter, and sculptor. As one of Italy’s most
celebrated sculptors, Marini mainly produced figurative bronze sculptures, though he
also included paintings, drawings, and etchings in his work. Before sculpture, Marini
started as a painter and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. He
enjoyed traveling and would often visit Switzerland and France. In the US in 1944, he
had his first show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Marino Marini
Museum in Florence has more than 100 pieces of his art on display.
